Pastor Sues Neighbour, Demands N50m Compensation

A northern base pastor, Reverend John, has dragged his neighbour, Elder Takai Shamang Azange to Federal High Court in Kaduna for alleged threat to his life.
 Reverend John is seeking his enforcement and that of his sibling’s  fundamental human rights, right to freedom of association,  liberty and human dignity.
He is also asking the court to restrain  the defendant and his allies from intimidating or harassing  him and members of his family.
When the case came up for mentioning,   lawyer to the defendant, Mr. B.L Gwada told the court that his client was served with the summons on the very day he was needed in court.
 Gwada therefore requested the court to allow his client to be fully briefed on the case  in order for him to prepare adequately before the court.
But the lawyer to the applicant,  Mr. A.B. Hamza, urged  the court to prevail on the respondent  to cease harassing his clients and members of his family.
 After listening to the lawyers’ arguments, Justice Emeka Nwite adjourned further hearing of the matter till July 5.
Reverend John is demanding N50million damages for the physcological trauma the defendant and his allies allegedly visited on him and members of his family.
