Why You Should Say No To Poverty

The reasons we need to say no poverty is because, poverty is soul, dream and hope crushing. Poverty is like being enclosed in a prison cell with no doors or windows. Sometimes, it feels as if there is no way out, only the resilient do not give up, you wonder if you are predestined like a cast in the Ibo society.

Poverty Bring About Discrimination And Disrespect.
Once you are poor in this part of the world, you are not carried along, your opinion is never put into consideration. Even in your family respect is always accorded to the richest member of the family regardless of his or her position in terms of age, some important decisions are hardly taken without consulting the richest member of the family, even if he or she is the youngest. Sometimes the person is given opportunity to lead prayer whenever there is any family meeting.

Poverty Destroys Family
Many families have been destroyed by poverty in African societies, it is no longer a new news that many marriages have ended as a result of husband's inability to provide the basic needs of his family, such as putting food on the table, providing shelter among other things. Poverty have prompted many women to commit adultery with other men who are financially more stable than their husbands in order to improve their standard of living. But once they are caught the marriage in most cases is considered over.

Poverty Is Responsible For The High Rates Of Prostitution
Most of our girls today that involves in one form of prostitution or the other aren't doing it because of its fun, but because of the financial benefits in the business, they do it because they are in most cases from poor homes, they have to do it to support their family. I am not in anyways using poverty to justify their actions, but it has to a great extent influenced them. Imagine being raised by a single poor parent that couldn't provide three square meals for you, parent that paid your school fees only when you've been Chased from school, changes your clothes when neighbors or family friends decided to change them for you, by giving you the used ones by their children.
Sometimes poor people in most African societies are seen as witches and for this reason those living in abject poverty are discarded.
Poverty Is Also Responsible Robbery And Kidnapping
Most of the young men that went into armed robbery and kidnapping were largely influenced by there economic statuses or access to the means of livelihood.
Enduring poverty is not the end of hope or life, some will tell you that working hard is the answer, some will say prayer is the way forward, while others Will suggest hard work and serious prayers will make one succeed. As I have learned, it is entirely possible to work and pray very hard and still remain poor.
The key things needed to break the walls that imprison those with poverty are; outside influences such as Non Governmental Organizations (NGOs), support networks such as friends or family members, of other opportunities and access to resources. With this combination, a new life is possible.
